On Thursday 26 September, the Club hosted the annual Ladies’ Tee off for Breast Cancer Trials Charity Golf Day. This is the fourth year the event has been held on The Pines golf course and the ladies enjoyed a beautiful day of golf while raising vital funds for Breast Cancer Trials on behalf of Breast Cancer Research.
Members and guests dressed in pink and competed in a fun Irish 4-Ball event. PGA Professional Sam Price was on hole 13 providing ladies with help on one of the hardest holes on the golf course. Sam dressed in pink and served the ladies champagne when they arrived at the hole. The field of 84 players were greeted with a beautifully displayed The Pines golf course after much needed rain over the weekend. Following golf, the ladies enjoyed a delicious lunch in Lakeview Bar designed by Head Chef Bryce Faull and his team. Whilst the day was mostly about raising awareness and vital funds for a worthy cause, the day’s competition was still hotly contested.
Congratulations to the team of Mary Hinves, Chris Dorrington, Libby Shakespeare and Ros Lamprill who were the winners on the day with a score of 97 points. The best dressed team award was won by Debra Scerri, Jenene Spencer, Sue Burridge and Linda Gately.
We would like to thank all the ladies for participating in the event, the Club appreciates your support. We would also like to thank the Breakfast Club Sportsman’s Lunch from which a donation of $1,000 was received which helped the event raise a total of over $4,200.
A special mention to the Ladies’ Golf Committee, Ryan Gailey and Ashleigh Blacksell for all their hard work leading up to the event.
We look forward to a bigger and better event in 2021.
