Friday 15 November 2019
On Wednesday 6 November, the Men’s Medal of Medals was held on The Palms golf course with 14 of the possible qualifiers battling it out to be the best of the best for 2019. The Palms awaited players with superb putting surfaces and an overall beautiful presentation in the hot and dry weather conditions. Paul Franks, with a score of 70 nett and 5 shots clear of his nearest competitor, was crowned the 2019 Men’s Medal of Medal Winner. Congratulations to Paul and all of the qualifiers. Best of luck to the qualifiers in The Pines Medal of Medals event which will be held on Saturday 23 November.
The Social Sunday modified Texas Scramble provided a refreshingly different format for the 11 mixed teams that braved the heat on Sunday 10 November 2019.
The event was tightly contested with only two points between the top three teams. The team of Peter and Jenene Spencer & Peter and Janice Wright took line honours with an impressive score of 135.
A countback on 133 points was required to split second and third place with the team of Steven and Julie Bridges & Stewart and Karen Gilchrist just edging out the team of Paul and Chris Lynam & Ian and Cathy Mathieson.
Congratulations to all the winners.
