On Friday 21 February 2020, Friday Night Dining in The Jabiru Restaurant will be enhanced with live entertainment.
Club Member Peter Cohen will play some classic songs throughout the night to set the tone for the evening. His repertoire ranges from ballads to country, blues and rock, and Peter will be sure to delight and provide a special touch on the evening.

A reminder to all Members that the Club’s next Social Sunday event will be held on Sunday 23 February 2020 and is a Florida Ambrose.
This event will be followed by the Sunday Roast as well as the Weekly Members’ Draw in Lakeview Bar.
The Leap Year Cup will be held on Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 February 2020. Winning this event is a coveted prize as the title lasts until the next Leap Year Cup in 2024.

The first Ladies’ Invitation Day for 2020 will be held on Thursday 5 March 2020. Each lady Member is invited to bring one guest to this fun-filled day of golf followed by lunch in Lakeview Bar. The event will be a best 2 of 4 stableford scores on each hole.

The 2020 Men’s Pennant season is fast approaching and the Club is looking for expressions of interest to represent the Club on a Sunday morning in the Division One Open Pennant (scratch golf).
This season will begin on Sunday 22 March 2020. Members are invited to sign up via the registration form on the golf shop noticeboard.
The Jabiru Restaurant is now taking dinner reservations via an online tee sheet.
Restaurant booking sheets will be open 14 days in advance. Members can book up to 9 guests, any groups larger will need to be made directly with the Club.

The new world handicapping system was implemented on Thursday 30 January 2020.
The Match Committee has made a decision to implement a new grading system from this date for all men’s and ladies’ competitions, excluding all Monthly Medals, Major Events and Honour Board Events where traditional grading will continue to be used.
The new grading system will be a sliding grade system. This means that the competition splits will change from day to day depending on the field size per the below example:
Men’s competition with 104 players
A grade – 35 players with the lowest handicaps
B grade – 35 players with the next lowest handicaps
C grade – 34 players with the highest handicaps
The split may change slightly if there are several golfers on the same handicap that are right on the grade split.
The Golf Services staff will write the daily grade split on the results sheet.

Due to recent heavy rainfall, there has been little progress with the irrigation project over the past 7 days. With the weather forecast to clear in coming days, it is expected that works will recommence next week. These will include the digging of the main line between holes 11 and 8 and the completion of the clean-up of the main line trench including turfing around the irrigation heads on hole 11.

The Club is holding a First Aid course that is open to Members on Tuesday 3 March 2020. There are two options available to Members:
Those who completed their First Aid course through the Club in 2019 can renew their CPR certification during a three-hour face to face course plus online pre-course learning. Note that the CPR component is valid for one year only.
For those who would like to complete the full First Aid and CPR course, the face to face course is eight hours plus online pre-course learning. The full course will provide participants with the skills and knowledge to administer first aid, basic life support and CPR in an emergency.
Those completing the CPR refresher will be required to attend the morning session only.
There are no prerequisites for the course however, those attending will be required to demonstrate their physical ability to perform at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on a mannequin to meet the performance criteria for assessment.
All attendees will be required to provide a USI (student number from the online learning modules) prior to completing the course.

Time: 9am – 5pm. Those completing the CPR refresher will only be required for the morning and this portion will only cover CPR
