RizeUp Christmas Gift Appeal – Giving Tree

Though Christmas and the summer holidays are often synonymous with happy moments, this time of year can be very difficult for many young people and their parents who are affected by family violence. 

This year, the Club is proud to be supporting RizeUp Australia for their 2021 Christmas Gift Appeal. RizeUp Australia is a Queensland-based organisation that helps women and families move on after the devastation of domestic violence. Their mission is to deliver life-changing and practical support to these families when they need it most. 

You can help bring a smile to children and families whose lives have been impacted by domestic and family violence by donating gifts this festive season.

A Christmas Giving Tree will be located in the foyer of the Golf Clubhouse until Sunday 12 December 2021. Gifts will be handed over to the wonderful volunteers at RizeUp and distributed to domestic violence services where families are invited to come along to ‘shop’ for their own children. By doing this, mums are empowered to make choices they might never had had before, as well as providing them with an opportunity to be directly involved in creating joy and bonding with their children.  

If you would like to be involved, please see below some key information on selecting suitable gifts:

• RizeUp is unable to accept any alcohol related products, candles or weapon related toys, including Nerf guns or similar products. To view a full list of acceptable items, please click here.
• Toys are to be unwrapped. 
• Only brand-new toys and gifts are accepted.  
• No food items are accepted.
• RizeUp often finds itself short on suitable gifts and toys for teenagers – both male and female.
