Updated – Member Vaccination Policy and Club Operation

In light of an ever-growing number of confirmed COVID-19 cases among our Members and staff, the Board has amended the COVID-19 Members Vaccination Policy (Policy) in regard to those Members who have been exposed to COVID-19 diagnosed Members.

The following changes have been made to the Policy which was issued on 17 December 2021, please review them carefully:

Member Vaccination Policy

Requirement

From Thursday, 13 January 2022, in addition to the requirements outlined in Queensland Chief Health Officer public health direction Isolation for Diagnosed Cases of COVID-19 and Management of Close Contacts Direction (No. 2) and any subsequent relevant Queensland Chief Health Officer public health directions, it will be a requirement that a Member immediately leave and not visit the Club Premises, including Exempted Club Premises, as soon as the Member is informed or becomes aware that within the past seven (7) days they have:
    1. played golf in the same group, for any duration of time, as a Member who has received a positive COVID-19 test result, or who has been otherwise informed that they have been diagnosed as having COVID-19; or
    2. had a mask-less interaction in the Clubhouse, for any duration of time, (for example, sitting at the same table) with a Member who has received a positive COVID-19 test result, or who has been otherwise informed that they have been diagnosed as having COVID-19.

This Policy has been amended by the Board to further ensure that Members and staff are provided with the safest possible environment to both enjoy the facilities and work in.

Club Operations

The Palms Golf Course Renovations

Due to the inclement weather last week and deterioration of the team due to Covid, we will be unable to complete the full renovation of The Palms golf course in the allocated time in January.

As at today, we are operating with 8 staff removed from the team, 6 of which relate to Covid and 2 to outstanding recruitment of resigned staff. We will continue to ensure the playing surfaces of The Pines golf course remain our priority for the enjoyment of the Members and guest.

It will our goal to complete the renovation of all greens, tees and aprons as well as applying a selective herbicide to remove foreign weeds from the rough areas. The planned scarifying and top-dressing with sand of the fairways is what we will be unable to complete and at this stage, we will look for alternate dates towards the Spring.

Cashless Payments

Effective Thursday 13 January, the Club will not be accepting cash payments in any of our outlets. Members and guests will be required to charge their accounts or use credit card. This has been adopted to further reduce the risk for Members and staff with respect to Covid and we appreciate your support with this.

Outlet Opening Hours

As previously communicated, we are being challenged daily with staff resources across all areas of the business due to Covid. We will continue to update Members in the Weekly Newsletter that is communicated to Members each Friday.
