{"id":61077,"date":"2023-01-04T08:58:26","date_gmt":"2023-01-03T22:58:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sanctuarycovegolf.com.au\/cms\/?p=61077"},"modified":"2024-07-01T12:48:35","modified_gmt":"2024-07-01T02:48:35","slug":"golf-news-and-member-events-6-january-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sanctuarycovegolf.com.au\/cms\/2023\/01\/golf-news-and-member-events-6-january-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"Golf News and Member Events 6 January 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Ladies&#8217; 9-Hole Competition<\/h3>\n<p>Following the introduction and success of the Ladies&#8217; 9-hole Competitions on Monday, these will continue in 2023 commencing on the dates below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monday 9 January \u2013 The Pines golf course<\/li>\n<li>Monday 16 January \u2013 The Pines golf course<\/li>\n<li>Monday 23 January \u2013 The Pines golf course<\/li>\n<li>Monday 30 January \u2013 The Palms golf course<\/li>\n<li>Monday 6 February \u2013 The Palms golf course<\/li>\n<li>Monday 13 February \u2013 The Palms golf course<\/li>\n<li>Monday 20 February \u2013 The Palms golf course<\/li>\n<li>Monday 27 February \u2013 The Pines golf course<\/li>\n<li>Monday 6 March \u2013 The Pines golf course<\/li>\n<li>Monday 13 March \u2013 no competition due to an event<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There will be a mixture of single stableford, 4BBB stableford and 2-ball ambrose events with the competition fee being $10.<\/p>\n<h3>2022 Ladies&#8217; Opening Day<\/h3>\n<p>Bookings can now be made for the Ladies Opening Day on Thursday 12 January 2023.&nbsp; This day is always a fun day and a great way to start the Ladies golfing year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Date:<\/strong> Thursday 12 January 2023<br \/>\n<strong>Time:<\/strong> 8am shotgun start with lunch to follow<br \/>\n<strong>Price:<\/strong> $65 per player includes competition fee, pre golf food, lunch and a drink on arrival<br \/>\n<strong>Event:<\/strong> 4-Person Ambrose \u2013 2 drives per player<br \/>\n<strong>Bookings:<\/strong> Bookings can be made via the online tee sheet<\/p>\n<h3>Sanctuary Cove Golf and Country Club Eclectic and Shootout<\/h3>\n<p>The Sanctuary Cove Golf and Country Club Eclectic began on 1 January 2023 and runs until 30 November 2023.<\/p>\n<p>For 2023, the Club has added The Palms Eclectic competition in addition to The Pines Eclectic competition. To partake in these events, a $20 joining fee for men and $30 joining fee for ladies applies. The ladies&#8217; fee includes entry in Women\u2019s Golf Gold Coast and District Events. When players register for one Eclectic competition, they will automatically be entered into both.<\/p>\n<p>The 2023 Sanctuary Cove Shootout qualifying for men commences on Wednesday 4 January 2023 and closes on Wednesday 8 November 2023. The ladies&#8217; qualifying commences on Thursday 5 January 2023 and closes on Thursday 9 November 2023. The best three stableford scores throughout this period in all single stableford competition rounds on The Pines golf course will count towards players\u2019 totals, with the top 19 players in each field vying to be the Shootout Champion. Men\u2019s scores are taken from competitions off the blue tees, and ladies\u2019 scores are eligible from competitions played off the red tees. The Shootout Final will be held on Sunday 3 December 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Sign-up sheets for both of these events will be available on the golf shop from the noticeboard from Saturday 17 December 2023.<\/p>\n<h3>Rules of Golf \u2013 Changes<\/h3>\n<p>There have been some small changes to rules of golf which began on 1 January 2023.<\/p>\n<p>For more detailed information, please click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.golf.org.au\/2023-changes-to-the-rules-of-golf\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Peninsula Kingswood Country Golf Club \u2013 Reciprocal Agreement<\/h3>\n<p>We are excited to announce that as of 1 January 2023, we have upgraded from an affiliate to a reciprocal agreement with Peninsula Kingswood Country Golf Club, which is located on the world famous Melbourne sandbelt.<\/p>\n<p>Peninsula Kingswood is one of the premier golf facilities in Australia with world-class golf courses, practice facilities, accommodation and dining.<\/p>\n<p>Each Member is allowed a maximum of 6 games per year and we are capped at 250 rounds a year for our Members at Peninsula Kingswood.<\/p>\n<p>Peninsula Kingswood Country Golf Club has two world class golf courses:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>North Course (#5 in Australian Golf Digest rankings)<\/li>\n<li>South Course (#16 in Australian Golf Digest rankings)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All bookings will require a letter of introduction, for more information on Peninsula Kingswood please click <a href=\"http:\/\/www.peninsulakingswood.com.au\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Honour Board Referees \u2013 Expression of Interest<\/h3>\n<p>For all of our Honour Board Match Play finals, we have a Member refereeing the matches to ensure there is no disputes and also to confirm scores, playing order and rulings where required.<\/p>\n<p>These Members will also be able to call Ryan Gailey when necessary who has National Level Rules Accreditation.<\/p>\n<p>Any Members interested in becoming a referee will be required to have a Level 1 Rules Accreditation as minimum and the Club will assist with this process.<\/p>\n<p>If this is of interest to you, please <a href=\"mailto:ryang@scgcc.com.au\">email<\/a> Ryan Gailey.<\/p>\n<h3>School Holiday Junior Golf Clinics with Mitchell Smith<\/h3>\n<div>2022 PGA Associate of the Year <span class=\"searchHighlight\">Mitchell Smith<\/span> will be hosting school holiday clinics through the month of January on The Pines golf course. These clinics are open for all school-aged children.
