Easter Tournament Overview
\n<\/span><\/h3>\n

The 2023 Sanctuary Cove Golf and Country Club Easter Tournament began on Good Friday with the Walker Cup being played on The Pines golf course. Golfers competed in the 4-Person Ambrose which was first played on Good Friday in 1990 and initiated by Mr Keith Walker and his friends. The event has remained as one of the most anticipated events on the golfing calendar with 148 players seeking to add their names to this year\u2019s Walker Cup winners board. The cloudy and overcast weather didn\u2019t affect the fun shared by Members throughout the day, especially that of this year\u2019s winners with a fine score 53.875 net. Congratulations to the team of Troy Devine, Glen Thomson, and Fletcher and Hayley Sewell. The Club was fortunate enough to have Mr Keith Walker onsite to present the trophy to the winning team.<\/p>\n

Easter Monday saw a record field of 114 Members and guests play The Jabiru Cup on The Pines golf course. A sunny and windy autumn day greeted golfers making for a perfect end to the 2023 Sanctuary Cove Golf and Country Club Easter Tournament.<\/p>\n

Wayne Kirby fired a superb 41 points to win the men\u2019s individual stableford and Judy Coote had a fantastic score of 41 points to win the ladies\u2019 event.<\/p>\n

The Jabiru Cup format is a random draw with four Members selected and the best three scores are counted on the day. This year\u2019s winning team was Keith Coleman, Brian Armstrong, Kirsten Ellingford and Wayne Kirby with a score of 105 points.<\/p>\n

Congratulations to Louise Wolbers who had a hole in one on the 7th <\/sup>hole of The Pines golf course during the Sunday Social Easter Skins event. <\/p>\n

Easter Sunday Easter Egg Hunt and Breakfast
\n<\/span><\/h3>\n

On a perfect, sunny Easter Sunday, the Club welcomed 180 Members and Sanctuary Cove residents for our annual Easter hunt and breakfast. With over 70 children participating in the egg hunt, it was an EGG-cellent morning, as they searched for egg tokens and filled their baskets with chocolate eggs and bunnies. The Easter hunt is a wonderful chance for Sanctuary Cove residents to engage with the Club and our Members with each year being a sell-out event. On Thursday 13 April, the 2023 Ladies\u2019 4BBB Stroke Match Play final was played between Kim Galpin & Fran Ning and Marcelle Chapman & Annelise Neser. With Marcelle & Annelise holding a three-up lead at the turn, Kim & Fran fought hard, but Marcelle & Annelise were victorious winning 2 & 1. Thank you to Joanna Pieper for refereeing and to the other players for participating.<\/p>\n

Congratulations to Mr Archie Hutchings<\/h3>\n

Congratulations to Sanctuary Cove Golf and Country Club Member Mr Archie Hutchings who was the lucky winner of $2,700 Club Credit at the Members\u2019 Draw on Sunday 9 April 2023. This Sunday, the draw will reset to $1,000 and there will be one chance to find another lucky winner. In order to claim the Members\u2019 Draw, the winner must be present in Lakeview Bar at the time of the draw. If the winner is not present, the draw will jackpot to $1,100 Club Credit next week with one chance to win.<\/p>\n

Changes to the Club\u2019s Rules Relating to Golf<\/h3>\n

The Rules Relating to Golf have been amended, specifically Rule 1.7 Golf Carts in relation to golf cart use. To view the amended Rules Relating to Golf, click here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Country Club Hours – ANZAC Day<\/h3>\n

The Country Club will be open 1pm – 6pm on ANZAC DAY, 25 April 2023.<\/p>\n

Note that there will be no Group Classes and No Kidz Club on this day.<\/p>\n
