{"id":64335,"date":"2023-07-04T10:13:18","date_gmt":"2023-07-04T00:13:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sanctuarycovegolf.com.au\/cms\/?p=64335"},"modified":"2024-07-01T14:07:03","modified_gmt":"2024-07-01T04:07:03","slug":"update-on-the-golf-courses-7-july-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sanctuarycovegolf.com.au\/cms\/2023\/07\/update-on-the-golf-courses-7-july-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"Update on the Golf Courses 7 July 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Update on the Golf Courses<\/h3>\n<p>This week the Golf Course Maintenance team addressed the following tasks:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fungicide application to greens on both courses to control Black Helminthosporium<\/li>\n<li>Leveling and turfing of low areas on the driving range fairway<\/li>\n<li>Commencement of the construction of an herb garden on the southern side of the Clubhouse<\/li>\n<li>Continued installation of hole signage posts on The Pines<\/li>\n<li>Continued garden works of trimming and mulching by the contractors around the Clubhouse<\/li>\n<li>Turfing of bare areas on The Palms 13<sup>th<\/sup> hole<\/li>\n<li>Turfing of the irrigation repair in front of The Palms 18<sup>th<\/sup> blue tee<\/li>\n<li>Edging of paths on The Palms<\/li>\n<li>Continued sprinkler head trimming on The Palms<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>After a rainy day on Tuesday, Members may have noticed black spots appearing on The Pines greens (see image). This is a disease called \u201cBlack Helminthosporium\u201d, or \u201cBlack Helmo\u201d as its commonly known. It is a turfgrass disease that affects warm-season turf such as TifEagle, and if left unmanaged can lead to severe damage and impact the playability of the greens. To counter this outbreak, the Golf Course Maintenance team has applied the appropriate registered fungicide to holt the disease\u2019s progress and minimise its impact.<\/p>\n<p>Next week the team plans to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Aerate of The Pines greens with 6mm solid tines<\/li>\n<li>Foliar fertilise The Palms tees, fairways and green aprons<\/li>\n<li>Complete the herb garden<\/li>\n<li>Complete the installation of hole signage posts on The Pines<\/li>\n<li>Complete sprinkler head trimming on The Palms<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<table style=\"border-collapse: collapse; width:
