A complimentary barbecue will be served to all participants during the event and drinks will be available to purchase. Spectators are welcome.<\/p>\n<p>Each participant will play a 9-hole course&nbsp;on the practice green between 4:30pm and 6pm for&nbsp;the chance to progress to the knockout stages.&nbsp;The top eight scores will progress&nbsp;with a sudden death NTP to determine ties. Quarter finals, semi-finals and the final will be played from 6pm.<\/p>\n<p>This event is open to all Members and there are over $500 in prizes to be won.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Date:&nbsp;<\/strong>Thursday 26 October 2023<strong><br \/>\nTime:&nbsp;<\/strong>4:30pm \u2013 7pm<strong><br \/>\nLocation:&nbsp;<\/strong>Southern&nbsp;putting&nbsp;green<strong><br \/>\nCost:&nbsp;<\/strong>$20 per person ($10 per person to Pink Month)<br \/>\n<strong>Bookings:&nbsp;<\/strong>Bookings are available via the online tee sheets<\/p>\n<h3>Go Pink Nearest the Pin Competitions <strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Go Pink Nearest the Pin (NTP) competitions will be held for men and ladies across the month of October. Entry into the NTP competitions is $5 per person and the winners will each receive a $100 golf shop gift card.<\/p>\n<p>These NTPs will be held in addition to the NTP in the day\u2019s competition.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ladies<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Date:<\/strong> Thursday 26 October 2023<br \/>\n<strong>Cost:<\/strong>&nbsp;$5 entry fee donated to the Go Pink fundraising tally<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Date:<\/strong> Friday 27 October 2023<br \/>\n<strong>Cost:<\/strong> $5 entry fee donated to the Go Pink fundraising tally<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3>Members\u2019 Guests \u2013 Monday 30 October \u2013 Sunday 19 November 2023<\/h3>\n<p>Please note the following rules whilst The Pines golf course is closed for renovations from Monday 30 October until Sunday 19 November 2023:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Member guests are not permitted to play in competition times<\/li>\n<li>One guest per Member in social play tee times only<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>The Pines Golf Course Renovation Program<strong><u><br \/>\n<\/u><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The Pines greens have established well since being done two years ago and this year\u2019s renovation program will be amended accordingly. Some solid thatch accumulation has occurred over the past 12 months and will need to be removed from the greens to help prevent disease this upcoming summer. As for the other surfaces (tees, fairways and aprons), the same process as last year will apply.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Greens<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Scarified at -3mm in two directions (matt and thatch removal)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Verti-Cut at -1mm in two directions (matt and thatch removal)<\/li>\n<li>Aeration with 10mm hollow tines (provides a corridor for oxygen in the root zone)<\/li>\n<li>Soil amendments applied (helps to correct any shortfalls in the greens soil profile as per soil tests)<\/li>\n<li>Heavily top dressed with amended sand (helps to even out any imperfections with the playing surface)<\/li>\n<li>Fertilised with Turf Starter at 3kg\/100m2.
