{"id":76307,"date":"2024-09-09T12:55:56","date_gmt":"2024-09-09T02:55:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sanctuarycovegolf.com.au\/cms\/?p=76307"},"modified":"2024-09-09T12:55:56","modified_gmt":"2024-09-09T02:55:56","slug":"rule-of-the-week-deliberately-removing-objects-or-altering-conditions-to-affect-ball-in-motion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sanctuarycovegolf.com.au\/cms\/2024\/09\/rule-of-the-week-deliberately-removing-objects-or-altering-conditions-to-affect-ball-in-motion\/","title":{"rendered":"Rule of the Week \u2013 Deliberately Removing Objects or Altering Conditions to Affect Ball in Motion"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Rule of the Week \u2013 Deliberately Removing Objects or Altering Conditions to Affect Ball in Motion<\/h3>\n<p>Players must not deliberately alter physical conditions or remove objects to affect where a ball in motion (either their own or another player&#8217;s) might come to rest.<\/p>\n<p><strong>11.3 Deliberately Removing Objects or Altering Conditions to Affect Ball in Motion<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A player must not deliberately take actions such as:\n<ul>\n<li>Altering physical conditions listed in Rule 8.1a (e.g., replacing a divot or pressing down raised turf).<\/li>\n<li>Lifting or removing:\n<ul>\n<li>A loose impediment (see Rule 15.1a, Exception 2), or<\/li>\n<li>A movable obstruction (see Rule 15.2a, Exception 2).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>This Rule applies even if the action does not affect where the ball comes to rest.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Exception:<\/strong> Players may lift or move:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A removed flagstick,<\/li>\n<li>A ball at rest on the putting green (see Rules 9.4, 9.5, and 14.1 for penalty situations), or<\/li>\n<li>Equipment belonging to any player (except a ball at rest anywhere except the putting green or a ball-marker anywhere on the course).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> Removing the flagstick from the hole while a ball is in motion is covered under Rule 13.2, not by this Rule.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Penalty for Breach of Rule 11.3: General Penalty<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Example:<\/strong> A player deliberately removes a loose impediment while another player\u2019s ball is in motion.
