Dear Member

On behalf of the Board, it is with great regret that I announce the resignation of our Captain of Men’s Golf, Mr Paul Smerdon. Paul will cease his captaincy on 30 June 2020, and therewith his position as Director on the Sanctuary Cove Golf and Country Club Pty Ltd and Holdings Limited Boards.

From 1 July 2020, Mr David Francis has been appointed our new Captain of Men’s Golf, which includes the appointment to the position of Director on the Sanctuary Cove Golf and Country Club Pty Ltd Board. Mr Greg Duguid has been nominated as David’s Vice-Captain. 

We extend our congratulations to both David and Greg on their appointments, and the Board looks forward to their expanding involvement within the Club.

I wish to sincerely thank Paul for his unwavering support, wealth of knowledge and untiring dedication which has been brought to the role as Captain of Men’s Golf. His contributions to the Club, including to the Board, to our Membership, to the annual golf schedule, to our golf courses and to Club life as a whole, are marked by his enthusiasm and candidness, which has played a key role in ensuring the Club’s vision was at all times, at the forefront of any decision-making.
