Sanctuary Cove Golf and Country Club is ‘tickled pink’ after raising over $18,885 for vital research being conducted at the Gold Coast’s Institute for Glycomics at Griffith University by raising funds throughout the month of October. The Club hosted a series of pink-themed events including a series of winemaker dinners, sausage sizzles and golf clinics as well as a number of daily activations with donations made from each coffee sold at the Club throughout the month and various other dining promotions. Since beginning this initiative in 2020, the Club is proud to have now raised over $71,184 in aid of this important cause.
Along with the Club Board, management and staff, the Institute for Glycomics wishes to express its sincere gratitude and thanks to all who were involved and donated to this cause. As a token of appreciation, the Institute has kindly gifted the Club a breast cancer tissue biopsy imaged using glycan mass spectrometry imaging technology, developed at the Institute for Glycomics with the support of funds raised by the Club over the years. In addition, representing our three years of partnership are three beautiful preserved roses, which will be on display at the Club for years to come. As indicated by these gifts, funds go a long way in supporting ground-breaking research into breast cancer at the Institute for Glycomics, and our Members’ generosity towards this cause is always greatly appreciated. Should you wish to still make a donation, please contact the Club directly.
As the year draws to a close, we would like to remind all Members to use their Club Credit before it expires on 31 December 2022.

The 2022 Melbourne Cup Spring Racing Carnival at Sanctuary Cove Golf and Country Club was yet again an amazing few days for all Members and their guests involved.
Beginning with our annual Melbourne Cup Calcutta on Sunday 30 October, the Club was filled to capacity with Members and an exciting energy. Thank you to Peter Spencer for his efforts in selling tickets in the Calcutta draw and for conducting the auction on the evening. The final prize pool raised an outstanding amount of over $6,000 which was donated to our Go Pink fundraising tally for the month of October. Thank you to all Members who took part in this event and we look forward to its return next year.
On Tuesday 1 November, the Club’s annual Melbourne Cup Luncheon saw Lakeview Bar transformed to reflect a racecourse marquee style event. Members and their guests filled the Clubhouse dressed in their finest spring racewear. Fashions on the field were once again a tough decision with Best Dressed Female being awarded to Anne Hill and our Best Dressed Male going to Peter Ramsay, while Malcolm and Kristen Jackman took out the title of 2022 Best Dressed Couple. A special mention to Club Member, Greg Ritchie who offered attendees some fun with a Melbourne Cup Wheel of Fortune. Guests enjoyed a very special seafood and smorgasbord lunch as well Louis Roederer Champagne on arrival. There were sweepstakes, a photobooth and the party continued well into the evening with live entertainment after the race from the iconic Gold Coast band, The Accidents.
