The Club has a new bell located on the wall in Lakeview Bar. The ‘celebration’ bell was donated by Member Peter Joel Roots and installed by Member Bill Bell.
The bell is only to be rung when a Member has a hole in one and decides to shout the bar. The bell can also be rung for any celebration like a birthday, birth of grandchild or anything you would like to celebrate, noting he who rings the bell in jest buys a drink for the rest.
Many thanks to Peter Joel Roots (first image below) for the donation.

The installation of a solar power system on the Clubhouse was successfully completed on Friday 30 June 2023.
The 99kw PV system is one of the largest installation options with 248 solar panels. The panels and supporting racking system are black, ensuring the system blends in with the Club’s existing roof for superior aesthetics. The system has already been generating power and OTI Power will continue to monitor the system and its output.
In the long run, we look forward to seeing a reduction to power bills, and we are pleased to actively support the Strategic Plan’s objective to improve the Club’s sustainability and enhance its green footprint.
We appreciate our Members’ support and patience while the works were completed.

After more than 30 years’ service, the Club’s longest serving employee Robert “Radar” Fraser is retiring. Radar served as the Golf Course Maintenance (GCM) department’s Head Mechanic and was an integral part of the GCMteam. It is with mixed emotions that we say farewell and thank Radar for his efforts, dedication and support during this lengthy tenure.
On behalf of the Board, the Members, management and staff, we wish Radar all the very best with his retirement plans and hope to see his smiling face at the shed from time to time.
A group of ladies started a book club earlier in the year, to which they now wish to extend an invitation to all Members. The club meets every month, with the next meeting scheduled for Friday 4 August at 11am. The book of the month is The Maid by Nita Prose.
The following book will be Murder at the Book Club by Betsy Reavley with the meeting scheduled for Friday 1 September.
For more details on the book club, including the meeting venue, please contact Loryn Van den Berg by email or phone on 0421 056 741.
As communicated to Members last year, the Club conducted an extensive review of its management software programs, Micropower and MiClub. The review was carried out in conjunction with a comparison to a secondary program, Northstar Club Software.
Northstar is a burgeoning software platform and is being implemented by many golf clubs within Australia including Royal Melbourne, Indooroopilly, Commonwealth Golf Club, The Metropolitan Golf Club and Kingston Heath to name a few.
Offering a robust cloud-based solution for clubs providing end-to-end capability and integration for POS, member management and golf solutions, Northstar’s versatility further automates functions including membership, fees, dues and other operations for private clubs.
In search of a software solution that has an increased focus on Member experience and utilises technology to improve the Member experience and offerings available to Members, the Club is pleased to advise that Northstar Club Software will be implemented from as early as 1 August 2023.
While most of the changeover will be made behind the scenes, Members will enjoy new, more user-friendly components of the software, including a new app.
Further information will be provided in the coming weeks, and training sessions will be set up to assist Members in the transition to the new software.
We greatly appreciate the challenges that change encompasses and are mindful of unavoidable hurdles ahead and thank you in advance for your patience and respect towards our staff throughout the transition period.
A reminder to all Members that hoodies are not permitted on the golf courses and in the Clubhouse.
