Physio Talk with Cove Physio Director Kate Starling

Kate Starling is holding a Menopause and Pre-Menopausal Health and Wellness session on Saturday 22 July at the Country Club which is free for all Members to attend. Complimentary fruit platters will be served at the conclusion of the event.

For something that affects approximately 50% of us, menopause is still hugely under-recognised and misunderstood. Whilst it’s garnered more attention recently, we at Cove Physiotherapy believe that we should be talking about it more. Menopause can have a significant effect on our bodies which can increase the chances of injury such as soft tissue tears and sprains. It can also lead to osteoporosis which can be a major cause of fractures.

This talk will be full of information to help you understand the menopause and to understand what you can do to help yourself. This talk is not just for women who have gone through the menopause. It’s for each woman because all of us will be affected at some point in our lives. Ladies, this one’s for you, so please come along – men are also welcome.

  • What happens during the menopause and what impact does this have on our soft tissues, including our muscles, ligaments and tendons?
  • Is there a link between the menopause and injury?
  • How should I be exercising during the pre- and post- menopause stages?
  • What is osteoporosis and how does it develop?
  • What are the best strategies for helping to prevent osteoporosis?
  • How can we manage osteoporosis?
  • What exercise should I be doing if I have osteoporosis?
  • Plus much more
