Update on the Golf Courses

This week the Golf Course Maintenance team completed the following:

  • Verti-cutting on greens on both courses
  • Insecticide application to selective areas on The Pines fairways to control insect larvae activity
  • Miticide application on bunker surrounds on The Palms to control mites
  • Herbicide application on The Pines rough to control flatweeds
  • Sprinkler head trimming on The Palms
  • The Palms 8th hole garden mulching; the Members’ Working Group kindly assisted with the transport of mulch to the site
  • A Member Engagement Session demonstrating turf maintenance and cultural practices was held on The Pines practice putting green, which involved verti-cutting, solid needle tine aeration and light dusting
  • Continued work with the tee-sign-post installation on The Palms
  • Herbicide application to control weeds in The Palms bunkers
  • Mowing of rough on The Palms

Next week the team plans to:

  • Lightly dust The Pines greens and apply amendment
  • Trim irrigation head sprinklers on The Pines
  • Foliar fertilise The Palms tees, green aprons and fairways
  • Plant shrubs in The Palms 8th hole garden
  • Apply herbicide to The Pines green aprons
