Shifting the hip to the left and adopting a more vertical turn will limit your ability to rotate effectively through impact (images on the left).
By enabling the left hip to rotate away and allowing the arms/club to lag behind the turn, you create the necessary room to rotate effectively through the ball (images on the right).
