Coaching Tip with Steve Darmody –
Grip it for Success

Why is a Neutral Grip important?

A strong grip (right hand underneath) can cause the club face to close too much at impact.

The golfer may feel the need to grip the club too tightly in an attempt to hit it straight.

Body movement may also develop an “anti-left” tendency, affecting both timing and balance.

A neutral grip promotes a more relaxed and better-balanced swing.

When done correctly, the new grip will feel comfortable and natural surprisingly quickly.
