This week, the maintenance team completed a range of important tasks across both golf courses. On The Pines golf course, selected weak areas received a foliar fertiliser application, while the Clubhouse lawns were scarified and scalped in preparation for Ryegrass oversowing. Winter annuals were planted in the flagpole garden, the forest floors were mulched using the Ventrac, and shaded fairway areas underwent ProCore solid tine aeration. Looking ahead to next week, the team intends to apply granular gypsum to weak fairway areas on The Pines golf course, carry out irrigation trimming, and continue the reconstruction of access paths between the 8th and 11th holes, and the 12th tee. Additionally, the entrance lawns at The Pines golf course are scheduled to be oversown with Ryegrass and top-dressed with sand. The Pines golf course will be closed on 30 June and 1 July to allow the GCM team to undertake several major works requiring the use of heavy machinery. The primary focus will be mulching and clearing storm debris remaining from the March weather event, along with the removal of several high-risk trees identified during the post-storm arborist audit. In addition, work will be carried out on the 13th green, including the placement of additional rock to stabilise the bank in front of the green, and the reinstatement of rock that was washed into the water during the storm.
