Message from our Golf Course Superintendent

Cameron Smith, Golf Course Superintendent

This week, the maintenance team completed a broad range of works across both The Pines and The Palms golf courses. Foliar fertiliser was applied to the fairways, tees, and aprons on both courses. The small putting green at The Pines golf course underwent a full renovation, including verti-cutting, solid tine aeration, rolling, dusting, and a fungicide application. This green remains temporarily closed to support recovery from a persistent patch disease.

The south driving range tee also received a minor renovation, which included aeration, de-thatching, and sand topdressing to restore surface levels. Additional fertiliser was applied to aid recovery. The entrance lawns at The Pines golf course were oversown with ryegrass and top-dressed with sand to enhance turf density and overall appearance.

Following the recent dry weather, progress on hole 3 of The Palms golf course has advanced significantly. The lake has now been cut and shaped, and the installation of the rock walls is progressing rapidly. In early July, our golf course shaping contractors will be on-site to commence shaping the new tee complex and the surrounding fairway areas. Meanwhile, works on hole 10 of The Palms golf course are also progressing well, with the new lake areas already stripped and excavation now underway.
