On Friday 4 July, the inaugural Men’s Mid-Year Ambrose brought 143 players to the course, enjoying ideal winter conditions and a relaxed start to the afternoon with a drink in hand before tee-off.
Played as a Four-Person Ambrose with a twist, the event delivered a competitive yet social atmosphere on course. Congratulations to Brendan Johnson, Ormonde Britton, Anil Patel, and Nathan Francis, whose impressive score of 54.75 nett earned them the win and a new pair of FootJoy shoes each.
On the 17th hole, PGA Associate Chris Park offered his tee shot skills in return for donations to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. Thanks to the generosity of the field, $1,960 was raised on course, which was then matched, and exceeded, by an anonymous donor, bringing the total donation to an outstanding $4,000.
With sincere thanks to all who played and supported – it was a fantastic occasion both on and off the course.
