Message from our Golf Course Superintendent

Cameron Smith, Golf Course Superintendent

This week, the maintenance team completed a broad range of tasks across both The Pines and The Palms golf courses. On The Palms golf course, the greens were verti-cut, lightly top-dressed (dusted), and broomed to improve surface smoothness and promote healthy turf. Foliar fertiliser was applied to the fairways, tees, and aprons on both golf courses, ensuring consistent nutrient support heading into late winter. Contractors were onsite at The Palms golf course to assist with tree removal and the clearing of accumulated branch piles around the 12th green.

Works progressed on holes 3 and 10 on The Palms golf course, where new irrigation laterals were installed, and final shaping was completed prior to the application of sand to create the growing medium for the new turfgrass. Of the three lakes on hole 10, one is nearing completion, while excavation has commenced on hole 3, with remaining lake floor material being removed to the required depth ahead of lining.

The storm debris clean-up on The Pines golf course has been rescheduled to 28th July, and rock work around the 13th green on The Pines golf course is yet to be confirmed.
