Message from our Golf Course Superintendent

Despite receiving an unfortunate 48mm of rainfall since last Saturday, it has been a highly productive week on course. A major milestone was reached, with turf installation commencing on the new hole 3 at The Palms golf course. Fairway turfing remains on track for completion this week, and the hole is progressing exceptionally well. We are looking forward to welcoming members back to play this area in early September.

In addition to the construction works, significant mulching was undertaken following last week’s visit from the tree contractors. This programme will continue over the coming weeks.

Looking ahead, next week is expected to see the completion of turfing on hole 3, including the new green extension.

 

This week, the maintenance team completed the following:

  • Applied fungicide and herbicide to The Pines golf course and The Palms golf course greens
  • Applied miticide to The Pines golf course and The Palms golf course greens
  • Moved tree debris piles on The Pines golf course
  • Turfed the new 3rd tee on The Palms golf course (contractors)
  • Laid new turf along the new rock wall edge on the 3rd hole of The Palms golf course
  • Trimmed trees around The Pines Clubhouse
  • Removed the 3rd green collar on The Palms golf course and prepared the area for new turf
  • Continued Ventrac mulching on The Pine forest floors
  • Completed Procore solid tine aeration on weak areas of the 17th and 18th fairways on The Pines golf course
  • Completed Shockwave aeration on The Pines Clubhouse range tee

Next week, the following will be addressed:

  • Herbicide application will be completed on The Pines golf course rough

  • Herbicide will be applied to The Palms golf course fairways and rough

  • Ventrac mulching will continue on The Pines forest floors

  • Tree debris piles will be removed on The Pines golf course by contractors

  • Turfing will be completed on the 3rd green of The Palms golf course
