Social Sunday: Modified Lone Ranger – Champion of Champions – Sunday 14 September 2025

One of the Club’s most popular Social Sunday events, Modified Lone Ranger – Champion of Champions, returns to The Pines golf course on Sunday 14 September 2025.

The event will be contested through a qualifying round, two semi-finals, and a final.

• Qualifying round: The qualifying round will be played as a standard Modified Lone Ranger. The four highest-scoring teams will progress to the semi-finals.

• Semi-finals: The semi-finals are played as match play. Team 1 plays Team 4, and Team 2 plays Team 3. Each match is decided on the modified 18th hole. A player is randomly drawn from each team to represent them in the semi-final; the hole is played and the winning team advances to the final. If the hole is halved, the higher-seeded team progresses.

• Final: The final is match play. Each team selects a player to represent them, but this player cannot have competed in the semi-final. The modified 18th hole is played.

  If the hole is halved, it is replayed with new players selected from each team. This continues until a result is achieved, and the winning team is declared the Tonto champions.

Handicap strokes for the hole will be applied as per the 18th hole for both men and ladies.

Location: The Pines golf course – following 18 holes, members will hand scorecards to Ryan behind the 18th green. Drinks will be available at the 18th green, where the match play event will take place.
