NOTICE: Changes coming to your Golf Experience

From 2 October 2025, your Golf Australia (GA) Handicap will transition to its new home on golf.com.au and the Official Golf Australia App.

These changes stem from Golf Australia undertaking a major digital transformation, including the transition away from the 25-year-old GOLF Link platform to a new system called Golf Australia CONNECT. This new platform will deliver enhanced technology services to more than 1,900 golf clubs and venues, and to over 450,000 golf club members across Australia.

The New GA App

A new Official Golf Australia Official App will be replacing the existing GA Handicap App. The new app will retain the existing handicap lookup feature and introduce a range of exciting new tools to enhance the golfer experience.

The new mobile app will be available via the Apple App Store or Google Play stores from Thursday 2 October 2025. Further instructions on how to move from the old to the new mobile app will be provided to both clubs and golfers in the weeks leading up to the transition.

For those golfers that use apps through Licensed Software Providers (LSPs), such as MiClub and MiScore, you can continue to use these apps just as you do now.

New GA Website

There will be a new website to access your GA Handicap. This will be done via Golf Australia and the PGA of Australia’s new website, GOLF.com.au which goes live on Thursday 2 October 2025. Through your account, you will be able to view and track your handicap in a streamlined and highly functional new dashboard.

Golfers – are your GA Account details up to date?

Prior to the Thursday 2 October 2025 transition, the only thing you need to do is check your existing golf.org.au account details are up to date. If you don’t already have an online account, and you wish to view your handicap history online or use the new GA App following the transition, you will need to create an account at golf.org.au

From Thursday 2 October 2025, golf.org.au will automatically redirect to the new GOLF.com.au website.

Offline time – no handicapping

In order to undertake the transition effectively, Golf Australia has advised all clubs and venues there will be an offline period from the evening of Sunday 28 September through to Thursday 2 October. During this short period, rounds of golf played will not be able to be handicapped.

Here at Sanctuary Cove Golf and Country Club we won’t have competition rounds handicapped from Sunday 28 September until Monday 6 October 2025. This will allow MiClub time to fully integrate into the platform and provide their respective clubs with handicapping functions. Between these dates, scorecards cannot be submitted at a later date due to the changeover of platforms.

Please note our updated schedule during this period:

Date Schedule
Sunday 28 September Social Sunday (no handicapping required)
Monday 29 September Social Play
Tuesday 30 September Ladies’ Competition (no handicapping)
Wednesday 1 October Social Play (no handicaps available in the installation process from MiClub)

Please note that the Ladies’ Club Championships have been rescheduled around these changes to GA Connect. Round 1 will now be played on Tuesday 7 October 2025 and round 2 will continue on Thursday 9 October 2025.

As with any major technology transition, there will be some key initial steps for users – principally golf clubs and their members – to help facilitate the change to the new system. Golf Australia’s ambition is to ensure these transitional steps are simple and kept to a minimum. At the same time, it will ensure resources are available to assist golf clubs and golfers if or when required.

If you want to know a little more about this technological transition, Golf Australia has developed an online Golfer Information Guide. You can access this guide by clicking here.

This is an important project for golf around Australia. Golf Australia is excited about the benefits that will eventually flow to its clubs, facilities, golfers, and golf fans.

We are carefully planning the transition and, as with any change process, there will be some necessary adjustments in getting used to a new system.
