Message from our Golf Course Superintendent

Cameron Smith, Golf Course Superintendent

With the continued favourable weather, the team has been able to progress with preventative herbicide applications, along with targeted post-emergent treatments to eliminate small patches of annual weeds that had germinated. As conditions warmed, trimming of native grasses in the garden beds around The Pines golf course commenced, and landscaping improvements at The Palms golf course continued.

With the opening of hole 3 at The Palms golf course drawing closer, attention was focused on landscape plantings to complete stage one of the area. While additional plantings will follow once civil works are finalised, the goal was to have all plants in the ground on this hole before opening. To ensure the best possible establishment, the new plants were protected with guards to maximise their success rate.

  • Pre-emergent herbicide and wetting agent were applied to The Pines golf course fairways and green aprons
