2025 Club Championship Finals 

The 2025 Club Championships concluded in spectacular fashion, with members showcasing exceptional skill, sportsmanship, and determination across all grades. The atmosphere around the Club was electric, with large crowds gathered to witness some truly remarkable golf on The Pines golf course.

Men’s A Grade
Paul Smerdon and Zac Stuart delivered an extraordinary final, remaining neck and neck after 36 holes. Zac fought back from three down to force extra holes, holing two putts on the 2nd and 3rd playoff holes to extend the match to 40 holes. A drive from the tee and a brilliant approach to the 18th secured Paul the 2025 Men’s Club Championship title. Congratulations to both Paul and Zac on a thrilling contest that captivated the crowd gathered behind the 18th green.

Ladies’ A Grade
Chohee Park and Valerie Day contested the 2025 Ladies’ A Grade final in outstanding form. Chohee took an early lead, holding a commanding nine-up advantage after the morning round. Despite Valerie’s determined comeback in the afternoon, Chohee’s consistent and composed play saw her crowned the 2025 Ladies’ Club Champion with a decisive victory with a 10 & 9 win.

Men’s A Plate
The Men’s A Plate final saw Buddy Nagi and Matthew Francis battle it out in a closely fought match. Buddy maintained steady form to take a three-up lead heading into the back nine, with Matthew continuing to apply pressure. Ultimately, Buddy claimed victory 3 & 2 to secure the title.

Ladies’ A Reserve 
In the Ladies’ A Reserve final, Chris Lynam and Janne Powell played another tightly contested match. Janne took a three-up lead after 12 holes, with both players displaying fine golf. She held her advantage to finish 3 & 1 ahead, earning the Ladies’ A Reserve Club Championship title.

Men’s B Grade
The Men’s B Grade final between Nico Schutte and Bernhard Haechler proved to be a nail-biter. Bernhard led by two through 13 holes, but neither player could pull away. After 18 holes, the match remained all square, with Nico eventually prevailing on the 20th hole to be crowned Men’s B Grade Club Champion.

Ladies’ B Grade
The Ladies’ B Grade final saw steady and consistent golf from both competitors, Madonna Siokos and Jane Mullings. Jane led by one after 17 holes and displayed great composure on the final green to close out the match two up, securing the Ladies’ B Grade Club Championship.

Men’s C Grade
In a spirited ‘battle of the Early Birds’, Alan Ashman faced Bruce Scott in the Men’s C Grade final. The match was played with plenty of laughter from the enthusiastic crowd. Bruce’s solid play saw him take the honours as the 2025 Men’s C Grade Club Champion.

Ladies’ C Grade
The Ladies’ C Grade final featured a tightly fought contest between Julie Whitbread and Joan Mason. Julie arrived at the 18th tee one up and held firm to secure a well-earned one-up victory and the 2025 Ladies’ C Grade Club Championship title.

Congratulations to all our champions on their outstanding performances, and to all members who participated throughout the championships. We look forward to seeing the winners’ names proudly displayed on the Honour Boards.
