Cameron Smith, Golf Course Superintendent |
It has been a very busy week across both golf courses, highlighted by the reopening of holes 10 and 16 on The Palms golf course, and the continuation of renovation works on The Pines golf course. While some final detail work remains on the 10th hole on The Palms golf course, it is excellent to see members now enjoying play on these newly reopened holes. Progress on The Pines golf course has been highly productive, with fairway renovation nearing completion in preparation for topdressing, and all programmed soil amendments now being applied to the greens. These amendments are being incorporated at substantial rates to build nutrient reserves within the rootzone, allowing the turf to draw upon stored resources throughout the remainder of the growing season, while also maintaining balanced nutrition through winter. Weather conditions have been highly favourable for renovation works on The Pines golf course, and minor finishing works will commence next week in preparation for reopening following the Australia Day period. |
