With another excellent week of dry weather, the team has commenced full preparations for the upcoming WPGA event. All short-cut mowing frequencies have increased, additional fertility has been applied to weaker turf areas, and minor turf works are being completed throughout the golf course. The selective herbicide application on The Palms golf course fairways has delivered outstanding results, positioning the golf course well as we move into the final six weeks of preparation. Following the reopening of The Pines golf course after renovations, the greens have received a light topdressing of sand to support recovery and maintain surface quality. Tee mowing has now commenced, with fairways and approaches scheduled for next week. A calcium application is planned within the next seven days, timed to coincide with the welcome rainfall forecast for late next week. Members may also notice the temporary bridge installed on hole 11 of The Pines golf course; this has been put in place for safety reasons while the existing bridge undergoes assessment. Comprehensive bridge audits are being arranged for next week to guide the appropriate reconstruction works. |
