Cameron Smith, Golf Course Superintendent

This week marks an exciting milestone, with the Australian WPGA Championship team now on site and the initial tournament infrastructure beginning to take shape around The Palms golf course. Installation of the tournament eighteen grandstands is underway, and early next week will see the placement of tee signage and range yardage boards, as preparations continue to build momentum.

The course itself remains in a very strong position. With the forecast rain for this coming weekend easing slightly, we are hopeful that mowing schedules and contractor movements will not be significantly impacted. Maintaining consistency in our presentation practices remains a key focus as we move closer to event time.

On The Palms golf course, bunker sand works are nearing completion, and presentation is continuing to lift daily. Over on The Pines golf course, additional sand has been added to bunkers on holes 6 and 8 to improve consistency and playability.

The coming weeks will see continued fine‑tuning as we balance tournament preparation with member play. Thank you for your continued support as we prepare the golf courses for this exciting period ahead.
