Wildlife at Sanctuary Cove Golf and Country Club

Sanctuary Cove is home to a rich and diverse range of native wildlife. The natural environment surrounding The Pines golf course and The Palms golf course provides habitat for birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and aquatic species, contributing to the unique character and tranquillity of the Club.

As an Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary, Sanctuary Cove Golf and Country Club is recognised for its commitment to environmental stewardship and the preservation of local ecosystems. This accreditation reflects the Club’s ongoing efforts to maintain healthy habitats, protect biodiversity, and ensure that both golf courses operate in an environmentally responsible manner.

Members and guests are encouraged to enjoy the presence of wildlife across the property while observing from a respectful distance. The wellbeing of these animals, and the safety of those on course, relies on minimal disturbance and an appreciation of their natural behaviours.

Environmental management

The Club’s golf course maintenance department operates under the Epar Environmental Management System, an internationally recognised framework designed specifically for the sports turf and recreation industry. This system supports compliance with environmental legislation and ensures the Club continues to meet high standards in sustainability, risk management, and ecological care.

Through the Epar system, the Club maintains:
