Ladies’ Invitation Day

The next Ladies’ Invitation Day will be held on Thursday 7 September 2023 on The Pines golf course. Each Member is welcome to bring one guest on the day for whom the green fees will be complimentary.

Guests will indulge in the delicacy, liveliness, style and finesse of a selection of premium quality Champagne, paired with an exquisite carefully curated fine dining four-course menu, while experiencing an exclusive masterclass from Vranken-Pommery CEO Inge Fransen, an expert in the field with over 10 years of “pure passion” for Champagne. Men’s Senior and Super Senior Pennant

The Men’s Senior and Super Senior Pennant season began on Monday 7 August 2023. The Sanctuary Cove Golf and Country Club teams got off to a great start with the Senior Pennant team winning 4-2 over Links Hope Island and the Super Senior Pennant team defeating Parkwood 4.5 to 1.5.

We wish both teams the best of luck for the next round on Monday 14 August 2023.

Upcoming Honour Board and Major Events

The below Honour Board and Major Events will be held in August 2023:

• Ladies’ Foursomes Championships – Thursday 17 August 2023. The 2022 champions were Jessica Wang & Audy White
• Ladies’ Memorial Trophy – Saturday 26 August 2023. The defending champion is Chris Lynam

Concreting for new Course Furniture

The Club has committed ample time and plentiful resources to update the golf course furniture on our courses for the betterment of the facilities and our Member experience. The imprudent act of tampering with the concreted pads as depicted is of poor taste, and now requires additional resources and funds to redo the area.

If someone was witness to the inscription or is privy to the individual who marked the pad, we welcome you to please contact the Club on 07 5699 9000 or visit Member Services.

Members’ Working Group 

The Members’ Working Group is a group of Members who volunteer their time to assist the Golf Course Maintenance (GCM) team with various tasks on and around the golf courses. 

In the coming weeks, the group will assist Steve and our GCM team in the planting and mulching of the new garden area on the left of The Palms 8^th hole.

The schedule will be as follows:

• Tuesday 15 August – Kings Landscapes will transplant 5 palm trees
• Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 August – Mulching of the area
• Monday 21 August – Planting out

Outside the above scope of works, the Members’ Working Group meets fortnightly on Tuesdays, and we invite any Members interested in helping to contact Gary Simmons

Social Sunday – 4BBB Stableford and Mixed Winter Challenge Final

The next Social Sunday event will be held on The Pines golf course on Sunday 13 August 2023. This event will be a 4BBB Stableford and the final of the Mixed Winter Challenge.

Sunday Night Roast and Members’ Draw

The weekly Members’ Sunday Night Roast is held on Sunday evenings from 5:30pm.

The roast is $40 per person and includes a soup, a selection of traditional roast meats and vegetables and dessert.

Places are strictly limited, to avoid disappointment please book by phoning 07 5699 9000.

The Members’ Draw is conducted weekly at 6:30pm. Last Sunday’s Member drawn was Mr Jeffree Freeman. As Mr Freeman was not present, the amount has jackpotted to $1,200 Club Credit with one chance to win.

Pace of Play and Registration for Play

A reminder to Members to please observe the Rules Relating to Golf as well as the Rules of Golf in relation to the following:

• Slow play – Please remain observant of your pace of play during your round and keep up with the group in front. As outlined in the Rules Relating to Golf, slow play is not tolerated, and the Club has a slow play policy in place.
• Registration – Players must register with the golf shop at least 15 minutes prior to their assigned starting time and must be within the vicinity of their starting hole or on the practice putting green 10 minutes prior to their tee time. In line with the Rules Relating to Golf, not reporting to the golf shop on time may lead to disciplinary action, and the Rules of Golf state the following:
  • If the player is late, and starts no later than 5 minutes after scheduled starting time, a 2-shot penalty is issued (loss of hole in match play)
  • If the player is later than 5 minutes from scheduled starting time, they are disqualified.

Golf Bookings

A reminder to all Members to cancel tee times if you are not intending to play. In recent times, Members have been delaying cancellations of unwanted tee times, only doing so one day prior to play upon receipt of the booking reminder email.

We appreciate your assistance on this matter.

Competition Times – Members’ Guest Policy

Due to the increased number of new Members and resultant additional Member rounds, there has been a change to the Club’s Members’ guest policy during competition times for bookings until 15 August 2023.

• Ladies’ Monday competition – maximum of one guest per Member, bookings can only be made within seven days of the tee time*
• Men’s Wednesday competition – maximum of one guest per Member, bookings can only be made within seven days of the tee time*
• Ladies’ Thursday competition – maximum of one guest per Member, bookings can only be made within seven days of the tee time*
• Men’s Friday competition – maximum of one guest per Member, bookings can only be made within seven days of the tee time*
• Men’s and ladies’ Saturday competition – no guests are permitted in competition times

*additional guests (two more per Member – three in total) may be booked within 48 hours of the tee time if availability permits.
