Guide to assisting Pace of Play
To help everyone enjoy a smooth round, here are some simple ways you can assist with pace of play:
- Keep up with the group in front.
- Play ready golf.
- Be prepared to play when it is your turn.
- If you believe your ball may be out of bounds or lost, play a provisional.
- Assess your shot, measure distances, and read your putt while others are playing.
- Record your score on your card or MiScore at the next tee while others are teeing off.
- Monitor your pace on MiScore (timing is displayed in the top left-hand corner).
- Follow the direction of course marshals – they are here to help ensure rounds are completed in appropriate time.
- Assist your playing partners: help search for balls, rake bunkers, and watch their shots.
- If your group is falling behind, a player may putt out and proceed directly to the next tee.
Remember: the low marker is responsible for maintaining pace of play within your group.
