Message from our Golf Course Superintendent

Cameron Smith, Golf Course Superintendent

Following the successful reopening of the 3rd hole on The Palms golf course this week, our attention has now shifted to progressing works on the 10th hole. Mainline installation is close to completion on the upper half of the fairway, with the remainder of the hole scheduled to be finished by the end of next week. Recent favourable weather allowed us to complete the herbicide catch-up program, and we are now focusing on fertility applications. With the Club Championships approaching, detail work also continued around The Pines golf course. Over the coming weeks, mowing heights on all shortcut areas will be gradually lowered to return to our ideal standards.

This week, the maintenance team completed the following:

  • Insecticide was applied to The Pines golf course fairways and green aprons, and the product was watered in

  • Herbicide was applied to The Pines golf course fairways and green aprons to control Mullumbimby couch and winter grass

  • Granular fertiliser was applied to The Pines golf course green aprons

  • Path repairs were undertaken on The Palms golf course 3rd hole
