Message from our Golf Course Superintendent

Cameron Smith, Golf Course Superintendent

The team has been highly productive this week, with ongoing bunker works on The Pines golf course focused on sand top-ups. Progress across the course has been strong, despite some adjustments to priorities, and we are moving efficiently through the scheduled areas. With the return of dry weather, all storm debris on The Pines golf course will be cleared this coming Monday during the course closure.

On The Palms golf course, the lake excavation on hole 3 has been completed, with only a small section of the rock wall remaining. On hole 10, the bunker shaping has been finalised, and the first sections of the cart path are scheduled for completion by the end of this week, with full completion targeted for Saturday 4 October. Fairway drainage works are ongoing, the irrigation system has been fully installed and is now operating under remote control, and turf installation is expected to commence within the next 10 days.

After a particularly eventful week, we are pleased to report that water is now entering the property. It will take several weeks for the lakes to fully replenish and for the golf course profiles to recover the necessary moisture levels. Despite the extended dry period, the courses have been managed effectively throughout.
